Hidden Word of the Day for Accountability
ALGEBRA 1 (A-G)
(Grades 8th - HS) (1 High School Credit)
The mystery is solved, and X can be found with Mrs. Small. Using Saxon’s spiral method, old concepts are reviewed and new concepts taught gradually to provide your student with confidence as they move forward in math. We will learn in small steps to simplify, evaluate, add, subtract, multiply, and divide polynomial, rational, and radical expressions. In the second semester, we will factor polynomials; solve linear equations, linear systems, quadratic, rational, and radical equations and linear inequalities of one and two variables.

ALGEBRA 2 (A-G)
(Prerequisite: Algebra 1) (1 High School Credit)
Did your student finish Geometry or Algebra 1 and doesn’t know what’s next? This is your class! This course will cover traditional second-year algebra topics including light geometry. Topics include: negative exponents, quadratic equations, logarithms, graphical solution of simultaneous equations, scientific notation, radicals, roots of quadratic equations including complex roots, properties of real numbers, factoring inequalities and systems of inequalities, logarithms, conic sections, exponential equations, basic trigonometric functions, algebra of polynomials, vectors in polar and rectangular form, algebraic word problems and advanced factoring.

GEOMETRY (A-G)
(Prerequisite: Algebra 1) (1 High School Credit)
After Algebra 1, do I take Geometry or Algebra 2? This is a question often asked and either is great.
In Geometry we get to play with shapes. We will learn about properties of lines and angles, triangle congruence, inequalities, parallel lines, quadrilaterals, transformations, area, similarity, right triangles, circles, concurrence theorems, regular polygons, and geometric solids. Students also learn sine, cosine and tangent, two-column proofs, and complete various constructions.
