MATH PDF: PERCENTAGES/DECIMALS/FRACTIONS (GRADES 5TH-8TH)

Wednesdays 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at FUNdamentals in Arcadia
Tuesdays 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at EIE in Monrovia

Conquer any fraction frustration with the help of Mrs. Small.  This class is geared for middle school students who want to build foundational math skills to better understand percentages, decimals and fractions.  We will also cover place value; order of operations; number lines; and more.  Using your own curriculum, this class will help middle-school students prepare to move on to higher-level math. Mrs. Small can also help eliminate math monsters by providing homework accountability to keep up with math lessons with either a syllabus she provides using Saxon or one completed by the parent using your preferred curriculum.  Or feel free to attend class without the homework accountability to supplement your work at home.

ALGEBRA PREP (GRADES 7TH - 9TH)

Wednesdays 10:30 AM – 12 Noon at FUNdamentals in Arcadia

Need help preparing for Algebra 1?  If your child hates math or just needs some extra accountability to get their work completed, Mrs. Small can help. Using Saxon Math 8/7 or Algebra ½ for 2nd year students, this course reviews arithmetic calculation, measurements, geometry, and introduces pre-algebra concepts.  Students will specifically learn about adding/subtracting/multiplying fractions, equivalent fractions, the metric system, repeating decimals, scientific notation, Pi, graphing inequalities, multiplying algebraic terms, and other pre-algebra concepts.  Set them up well for Algebra 1 with the instruction and homework accountability this class provides.

ALGEBRA 1 (A-G)

(GRADES 8TH– HS)    (1 HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT)

Wednesdays 12:30 PM – 2:00PM at FUNdamentals in Arcadia

The mystery is solved, and X can be found with Mrs. Small.  Using Saxon’s spiral method, old concepts are reviewed and new concepts taught gradually to provide your student with confidence as they move forward in math.  We will learn in small steps to simplify, evaluate, add, subtract, multiply, and divide polynomial, rational, and radical expressions.  In the second semester, we will factor polynomials; solve linear equations, linear systems, quadratic, rational, and radical equations and linear inequalities of one and two variables.
